What we collect.
1.1Account and profile. Your name, email address, headline, location, the kind of work you are after, and any links you add to LinkedIn, GitHub or a portfolio. You choose how much of it to fill in.
1.2Your resume. The file itself, and the text we read out of it: work history, education, skills and projects.
1.3Your phone number, if you add one. We pass it to a text message service so it can text you a code. We keep the number and whether it was verified, never the code.
1.4Equal opportunity answers, if you choose to give them during onboarding. Gender, race, veteran status and disability. They are optional, they live in their own table, and no recruiter and no model ever sees them.
1.5Sign in records. Each time you sign in, the time, the device and the IP address are recorded. You can read that list yourself under Settings, then Security, and end any session from there.
How we use it.
2.1To build your profile, and to put your application in front of the employers you apply to.
2.2To read your resume. The text goes to an outside AI service once, and what comes back fills in your profile so you do not have to retype your career. We keep a short note of each read: the date, the model, and how large the request was. The note holds none of your resume.
2.3To send the email a sign in or an application needs, and to text a verification code if you asked for one.
2.4To keep the service standing up. Rate limits, error logs and abuse checks.
2.5We do not sell your data. We run no advertising. We do not use your data to train any model, ours or anyone else’s.
What never reaches the model.
3.1Screening looks at one thing: whether your experience matches the technical work the job asks for.
3.2Your name, photo, graduation year, school name, address, zip code, pronouns, age, citizenship, marital or parental status and disability status are stripped before your application reaches the scoring model.
3.3One honest exception. Reading a resume is not screening. When we first read yours to fill in your profile, the text goes to that outside AI service whole, contact details included, because finding those details is the entire point of that step. Nothing in that step produces a score.
3.4Your equal opportunity answers sit apart from your application. They feed the yearly bias audit and nothing else.
A model never turns you down. It scores and it ranks, and a person on the hiring team Decides.
Who we share it with.
4.1Employers. Apply to a role and that employer sees your profile, your resume and your answers.
4.2The companies that run pieces of the service for us. One holds the database, the files and the sign in. An AI service reads resumes. A text message service sends verification codes. A mail provider sends the email. A security service checks that a person, not a script, is sending an application, and sees your internet address to do it. Each may use the data only to do that job.
4.3Authorities, only where the law requires it.
4.4Nobody else. No data brokers, no advertisers, no sale of any kind.
How long we keep it.
5.1Your profile, your resume and your applications stay for as long as your account is open.
5.2Delete your account under Settings, then Security, and it all goes at once. Applications, answers, saved jobs, resume files, work history, education, projects, your profile, your onboarding answers and your equal opportunity record, in a single operation, with the stored resume files removed straight after. There is no waiting period.
5.3One line survives on purpose. Every time a model read your resume we keep a note that it happened, with the date, the model and the size of the request. Our own compliance rules require that trail. It contains none of your resume.
5.4Interviews run on their own clock. Ninety days for your code and your drafts, thirty days for proctoring flags, twelve months for the score and the reason written beside it.
Your rights and contact.
6.1See it. Everything we hold about you is on your profile and settings pages.
6.2Take it. Export your data from Settings as a PDF. It lists your profile, work history, education, projects, resumes and applications.
6.3Fix it. Edit any of it from your profile at any time.
6.4Remove it. Settings, then Security, then Delete account.
6.5Ask for a person. You can ask for a review by a human instead of a model, and you can ask why a result went the way it did. If you need an accommodation at any step, applying or interviewing, ask the same way. Write to legal@recrewit.ai.
6.6Where this applies. Recrewit is open to candidates in the United States. Traffic from the European Union, the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area is turned away at the door.
6.7Changes. We may update this page as the product changes. The date at the top is the version you are reading. If a change matters, we email the address on your account before it takes effect.
6.8Questions about any of this go to legal@recrewit.ai. We read every message.
